Aperel

Aperel
(fl. 1370 BC)
Northern vizier of Amenhotep III. His intact tomb was excavated at Saqqara beginning in 1976, culminating in the opening of the burial chamber in 1987. His existence was hitherto unknown. Aperel’s name is Semitic, but his burial was thoroughly Egyptian, so it cannot be necessarily assumed that he was of foreign origin as Semitic names were sometimes used by Egyptians.
